I must tell you about my thoughts

Sony is $158 dollars richer. Does it make me less of a man that I could not fix my PS3? Perhaps. It was a long, arduous battle. I believe my competitor would say they same. I dealt heavy blows, quick upper cuts. I ripped in greedily. I tore things out, unplugged power supplies, unscrewed screws. I felt confident. That was my folly. The vitality of my manhood rested on confidence alone. There was no substance, no talent or ability. Just wishful thinking. How will I be remembered? Nothing more than a confirmation number. I lonely 11-digit identification to show I am but one of many who was defeated. As they say, history is written by the victors.

My skills for visual effects and animation are starting to get noticed around my school. That, of course, is an overstatement. I'm actually quite unknown and little thought of, but at least people are asking me to do things.

1.) A Day at the Park: This film screens in ONE week. Pretty crazy. This film was my first senior thesis film and my first attempts at 3D animation. I'd say it's the more coherent of the films I've worked on.

2.) The Waking Ones: This film is bad. No really, this is a terrible film. Bad acting, bad story, TERRIBLE camera work, bad lighting. The only even remotely good things about this film are the sound design and the visual effects, which unfortunately are the two things the audience really could care less about. I've been working on the visual effects, and I must say they look pretty sexy. There's this one scene where this guy's face gets ripped off (kind of...it's more metaphorical or as they might say "bad") and light is supposed to emit from his face.

3.) The Mighty Lou Kingston: At first I did not like this film. Now I kind of like it. It's a boxing film where the main character is a 2D animated character (which I'm supposed to do...somehow.) The script needs a little work, but there is plenty of time to get this one done.

ANIMATIONEDUCATION

jeez, I'm really going heavy-handed with this animation stuff.

Well, I found a good animation school in France, and their stuff needs to be seen.

Way too good for student work. Really. Too good. What the heck.

Also, if you haven't seen these guys you should. These next two are the past academy award winning short animated films. Logorama is funny, La maison en petit cubes is French, and therefor heartbreakingly sad. Both of them are worth the time to watch.

Quick Blog

Hey blog! Time for a quick update.
So I am in Accounting class right and bored as usual.

I had some Flame Broiler from across the street from my business building today before class tonight. The store finally opened up. It was surprizingly cheaper than the Mission Viejo store by about $0.50 a bowl.

I want to let everyone know I am officially the President of the Finance Association! This is all part of my slow takeover of the Mihaylo school of Business and Economics. Time to rule with an iron fist! I'm really excited. I have good ideas to improve the club.

School has been a bitch lately. Lots of projects, papers and exams coming due. So much to do! I am trying to balance school work with FA, securing a summer job, and relaxing in general. Not enough time in the day.

Video games of the week: Left 4 Dead (PC), War of the Monsters (PS2)

This Saturday from 9am to 12pm is a Huntington Beach clean-up that FA is attending as a volunteer event. If you are interested in going let me know!

Spring Break 2010

Long time, no see. It is time for a post. What should I talk about? Myself? My love life (or lack there of)? Fullerton? Nah. Let's go with spring break.

Today is April fools day today, but I will not be pulling any pranks on anyone today unfortunately. I just did not plan it out this year.

Spring break is here and sadly is almost over! It is amazing how fast time can fly when you are catching up on lost sleep.

So far spring break has been good and bad this year. It has had a good combination of fun/relaxation and homework/crap. The days usually suck, but the nights are totally awesome. The days usually suck because it is either homework time or northwestern mutual crap. But man the nights are filled with friends, cards, and monsters. And those are three things that are hard to beat when they are combined.

Overall spring break is going good. Highlights of Spring Break 2010 will include:
  • The Death of Mithaniel Marr
  • Huntington Beach; dead seal foot
  • FA Game Night
  • Most epic sessions of Egyptian Rat Screw
  • Monsters
  • Northwestern Mutual Fail
  • 3 finger smack
  • Grand Theft Auto Graduation Video
  • Easter eggs downhill to Nathan
I'm sure there are a lot more, but this is what I'm thinking about right now.
Popular sayings for this break include:
  • There is no reconciliation
  • F me F me, My king and my 3
  • Come the fuck
  • Meat Stack
Feel free to add on to these lists.

Last night was especially awesome with the amazing card playing. First James dominates at poker winning $1 and $1 imaginary Michael dollar, but then he wins like 8 games of Egyptian Rat Screw. Michael got second place with 2 wins, and I won 0 games. It was still fun for me though, because it was the closest I have ever come to winning at this game.

During the poker game, James came up with a saying:

"Fuck me, Fuck me, My king and my 3."

Then later on Michael took it further and made a poem:

Playing Poker with Pennies
"Fuck me! Fuck me!
My King and my three
The false hope you bring
One of such royalty
And one no two no three
You see you see
The King and the three
My only chance at victory
I wager you call
I raise you fall
My King! My three
Could you ever save me?"

Awesome job Michael.

As I conclude this blog post I leave you with some pictures that are hopefully recent enough to be cool.

Enjoy!

I thought I had some more recent group stuff but I guess I dont. :(
O well. Maybe James has some on his cameras.
