I put the blog into a site that does an analysis of the writing

http://www.urlai.com/url/visualizingthought.blogspot.com

the site shows graphs and stuff but this is the overall result....

"visualizingthought.blogspot.com is probably written by a female somewhere between 18-25 years old. The writing style is personal and happy most of the time."

Everything

Hey Party People,

I'm in an unexpectedly good mood all of a sudden. I have no idea why! Just hit me out of no where. Maybe it's the good music i'm listening too. (not just offspring).

Many have proclaimed this the Year of John. Everything just seemed to be going my way this year. Scholarship, FA President, FDIC Payed Internship, Great GPA, the works! I will always remember 2010 as the year of John, and I thank all of you who helped me get here.

As many of you know, this month has beaten me down to my core. From battling the hardest subject matter in school i've ever faced to fighting the political system in FA it has been rough. I reached a new level of stress I did not know existed. This level transpired from mental to physical pain. How could this happen in the Year of John!? However it happened, I have had much time to reflect on it now that it is all over.

My surprisingly good mood and reflection has reminded me of my most appropriate senior year high school quote: "If you can overcome the stress, you can overcome anything." Truth be told, I have no idea where I came up with that and why I came up with that. Even when I wrote it I thought it sounded weird. Now I'm glad I did. It's almost as if something inside me knew I would be facing a major stressful situation in the future and I needed to write this quote years in advance to give me the guidance. Back to the future.

All I can say is I got through the pain. As Vinay would say, "You are like Jerry Seinfeld, everything just works out for you." I don't know if I agree with that completely, but I see some truth in it. Whenever something bad happens to me, something good follows it later. Destiny always has a plan I guess.

Again, I don't know why I am in a good mood. I am heading for some major school and work decathlons. This week begins it all. But I am not going to let that ruin this mindset. I have learned from this semester and It has only made me stronger. Never ruin a good thing, never let an opportunity pass you by.

Now I must end the ramble of my thoughts. It was a good ramble that just sort of spewed out and connected itself together one way or another. I made a little detour from typing to whip this little number up really quick:

I thought my post needed a little art work for the aesthetic-ness of it all. The graph is a rough sketch of the peaks and troughs of the year of John, as fast as I could remember it as a time line.

I hope you enjoyed this Post by Johnny K aka the Tankmaster. See you at new-years.

See Ya!

Jumping on the blogwagon

In typical fashion, I've gotta get in on this action. The last time I blogged here was March. MARCH.
Moving on.

My laptop is making my legs hot. So technically I have hot legs.
I'm almost finished with midterms. Almost. Luckily I got back the midterm I thought was the hardest already and I did better than expected. You don't get to say that often.

I like the social network soundtrack
its pretty hip.

just embedding these videos in this blog makes me think of the Social Network, all that code. With my 1 semester of Computer Science for Non-Computer Science majors I think I'm about 1/99th as skilled as Zuckerberg.

I have to admit, facebook is very effective. Even with a scandalous origin it has become the social HUB for all us folks. And our parents. And grandparents.
I wonder who the oldest person with a facebook is. But do facebook fan pages count? Because if they did then Jesus would have a facebook. :)

I've noticed my grammar goes to hell in blog form. I can't START sentences with And But Because.
But I do it anyways.
And I like it.

If you take anything away from this post, it's that you should read the novel White Noise by Don DeLillo.

also this is a thing http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post-postmodernism

You still got it.

If Facebook has made me realize anything, it's how little I actually care about what's going on in the lives of pretty much everyone. If that sounds really snobby, it's because it is. If you read that sentence with a condescending chortle, I think you might get a clearer picture of what I'm talking about.

I have so much work to do right now. I'm blogging as a means of stirring up whatever unharvested creativity I have left.

Conquer. Let's talk about Conquer. The ace in the hole. I think we need to take Conquer to the social networking stage. I don't even know what that means. Let's not talk about Conquer. It's a summer project and all, right?

If creativity was a basket of goods, my CPI would be...bad. Low? Insufficient?

I DON't KNOW WHAT I'M SUPPOSED TO DO FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT.

I just read fifty pages about whaling and whalers and how they made up rules so they wouldn't steal each others whales. I just downright don't care enough to think about it anymore than I already have.

Holy crap. I'm not going to finish by midnight. I need to go bye.

Hey, man, you know i'm really okay
the gun in my hand will
tell you the same
but when i'm in my car
don't give me no crap
cause the slightest thing
and i just might snap

When i go driving i stay in my lane
but getting cut off it makes me insane
open the glove box
reach inside
gonna wreck this fucker's ride
'cause i got a bad habit
of blowin' away yeah yeah
got a bad habit yeah yeah
and it ain't goin' away yeah yeah

Well, they say the road's
a dangerous place
if you flip me off i'll
get in your face
you drive on my ass
your foot's on the gas
and your next breath is your last
'cause i got a bad habit
of blowin' away yeah yeah
i got a bad habit yeah yeah
and it ain't goin' away yeah yeah

Drivers are rude
such attitudes
but when i show my piece

Secretly and slowly we continue on the way. Is there any other way. What is the way we want. Where will we eventually end up? How can one person really justify any existence?

Existentialism is no laughing matter.

Summer is a Beautiful Thing

Hello everyone. I apologize for no June posts. Sad I know. So I thought I would make a quick post about my favorite things about this summer so far. We are halfway through summer 2010. Here are some highlights:
  • Backyard Bonfires - Gotta love cooking bread over an open flame.
  • FDIC - Bailing out the Bank of John one paycheck at a time.
  • Fireworks - Happy birthday America.
  • Morrongo - New and exciting with long drives and good conversations + extra $ for John.
  • Mid-Day Pool Party - Battling for the spot of raft king was never so intense.
  • King No-Who - Hours of late night active listening fun.
  • 4 Square - I think this might have been at the start of summer... just thought i'd throw it in there.
I think that is a pretty good list. If I had to point out a common trend in the list above, it would be nighttime and smoke-filled atmospheres.

Summer has been good so far. Can we keep it going? Next events I would like to see happen:
  • Another Curb Rebel Video
  • Left 4 dead big lan
  • Nighttime fog + strobe pool party
  • Airsofting?
  • O.C. Fair?
  • Camping?
Things that I would have liked to see this summer but did not come true:
  • Yosemite
  • Cardboard Tank

Hooray for summer 2010!

Things I've been noticing

1.) I only blog when there is something else I need to do, and don't want to do. In this case, there are many things I don't want to do and need to do, but that I just don't want to do.

So

I blog.

2.) My blogs used to be so much better.

Like a long time ago. Not even in the last year, or even two years.

I'm talking about 4 or so years ago.

Those were some angsty, badass blogs. To tell you the truth, I kind of miss that angstiness. Angst is the building block of teenage hood, and as I approach 20 I can't help but reminisce. And reminiscing is never good. In fact, it's bad.

Our trip down to de Portola didn't help either. Nostalgia is a drug. You feed it, but it's never satisfied.

I'd say my blogs are becoming more bland. Less flavor.

It doesn't go down like it used to.

Less fiber.

It's like eating candy and drinking pepsi.

No substance.

3.) I HATE APPLYING FOR JOBS.

JESUS. CHRIST.

MAKE THEM GO AWAY.

4.) I need a job.

5.) My life is a cruel paradox

6.) Oh I don't know. At this point I'm just trying to avoid getting my shit done.

Whatever.

No more lists. Lists are so five minutes ago.

Alright here's the lowdown:

I feel like I'm losing my mojo.

Bluntly put.

What does that mean? I don't know. I feel less concrete as a person compared to a couple months ago. Less cocksure...more skeptical. Why? I don't know. I've been thinking about what after college, and it's all so unplanned.

I guess this brings us back to #4.

Dude, this is one mad angsty post. I feel better, tell you the truth.

I must tell you about my thoughts

Sony is $158 dollars richer. Does it make me less of a man that I could not fix my PS3? Perhaps. It was a long, arduous battle. I believe my competitor would say they same. I dealt heavy blows, quick upper cuts. I ripped in greedily. I tore things out, unplugged power supplies, unscrewed screws. I felt confident. That was my folly. The vitality of my manhood rested on confidence alone. There was no substance, no talent or ability. Just wishful thinking. How will I be remembered? Nothing more than a confirmation number. I lonely 11-digit identification to show I am but one of many who was defeated. As they say, history is written by the victors.

My skills for visual effects and animation are starting to get noticed around my school. That, of course, is an overstatement. I'm actually quite unknown and little thought of, but at least people are asking me to do things.

1.) A Day at the Park: This film screens in ONE week. Pretty crazy. This film was my first senior thesis film and my first attempts at 3D animation. I'd say it's the more coherent of the films I've worked on.

2.) The Waking Ones: This film is bad. No really, this is a terrible film. Bad acting, bad story, TERRIBLE camera work, bad lighting. The only even remotely good things about this film are the sound design and the visual effects, which unfortunately are the two things the audience really could care less about. I've been working on the visual effects, and I must say they look pretty sexy. There's this one scene where this guy's face gets ripped off (kind of...it's more metaphorical or as they might say "bad") and light is supposed to emit from his face.

3.) The Mighty Lou Kingston: At first I did not like this film. Now I kind of like it. It's a boxing film where the main character is a 2D animated character (which I'm supposed to do...somehow.) The script needs a little work, but there is plenty of time to get this one done.

ANIMATIONEDUCATION

jeez, I'm really going heavy-handed with this animation stuff.

Well, I found a good animation school in France, and their stuff needs to be seen.

Way too good for student work. Really. Too good. What the heck.

Also, if you haven't seen these guys you should. These next two are the past academy award winning short animated films. Logorama is funny, La maison en petit cubes is French, and therefor heartbreakingly sad. Both of them are worth the time to watch.

Quick Blog

Hey blog! Time for a quick update.
So I am in Accounting class right and bored as usual.

I had some Flame Broiler from across the street from my business building today before class tonight. The store finally opened up. It was surprizingly cheaper than the Mission Viejo store by about $0.50 a bowl.

I want to let everyone know I am officially the President of the Finance Association! This is all part of my slow takeover of the Mihaylo school of Business and Economics. Time to rule with an iron fist! I'm really excited. I have good ideas to improve the club.

School has been a bitch lately. Lots of projects, papers and exams coming due. So much to do! I am trying to balance school work with FA, securing a summer job, and relaxing in general. Not enough time in the day.

Video games of the week: Left 4 Dead (PC), War of the Monsters (PS2)

This Saturday from 9am to 12pm is a Huntington Beach clean-up that FA is attending as a volunteer event. If you are interested in going let me know!

Spring Break 2010

Long time, no see. It is time for a post. What should I talk about? Myself? My love life (or lack there of)? Fullerton? Nah. Let's go with spring break.

Today is April fools day today, but I will not be pulling any pranks on anyone today unfortunately. I just did not plan it out this year.

Spring break is here and sadly is almost over! It is amazing how fast time can fly when you are catching up on lost sleep.

So far spring break has been good and bad this year. It has had a good combination of fun/relaxation and homework/crap. The days usually suck, but the nights are totally awesome. The days usually suck because it is either homework time or northwestern mutual crap. But man the nights are filled with friends, cards, and monsters. And those are three things that are hard to beat when they are combined.

Overall spring break is going good. Highlights of Spring Break 2010 will include:
  • The Death of Mithaniel Marr
  • Huntington Beach; dead seal foot
  • FA Game Night
  • Most epic sessions of Egyptian Rat Screw
  • Monsters
  • Northwestern Mutual Fail
  • 3 finger smack
  • Grand Theft Auto Graduation Video
  • Easter eggs downhill to Nathan
I'm sure there are a lot more, but this is what I'm thinking about right now.
Popular sayings for this break include:
  • There is no reconciliation
  • F me F me, My king and my 3
  • Come the fuck
  • Meat Stack
Feel free to add on to these lists.

Last night was especially awesome with the amazing card playing. First James dominates at poker winning $1 and $1 imaginary Michael dollar, but then he wins like 8 games of Egyptian Rat Screw. Michael got second place with 2 wins, and I won 0 games. It was still fun for me though, because it was the closest I have ever come to winning at this game.

During the poker game, James came up with a saying:

"Fuck me, Fuck me, My king and my 3."

Then later on Michael took it further and made a poem:

Playing Poker with Pennies
"Fuck me! Fuck me!
My King and my three
The false hope you bring
One of such royalty
And one no two no three
You see you see
The King and the three
My only chance at victory
I wager you call
I raise you fall
My King! My three
Could you ever save me?"

Awesome job Michael.

As I conclude this blog post I leave you with some pictures that are hopefully recent enough to be cool.

Enjoy!

I thought I had some more recent group stuff but I guess I dont. :(
O well. Maybe James has some on his cameras.

Titles

Well, I didn't intend on doing a post tonight (also see: this morning) but I just stopped writing on my essay for the night and I have some steam left over that if I don't take advantage of will surely pass by morning.

Something that has always fascinated me are movie titles. Or maybe just titles in general. I love titles that are really catchy so I'm making a list of some of my favorites. In no particular order. Let's do this thing.

1.)

I can't say I cared much for the movie (I didn't) but it definitely had one of the most eye-catching titles.

2.)

The Up of emotional contentment? The Up of moving on? The Up of a house lifted by thousands of balloons? It just works.

3.)

I bet they had themselves a party when they thought of this title.

4.)

How catchy is that? It's so freaking catchy. It kind of rhymes, but not in a gay way. How's that for cover art by the way? I pre-ordered this game on the basis that it has an amazing name.

What number am I on? I have to scroll up to see. It doesn't even matter I suppose.

#something:

THE PIGPEN

I so do adore this animated short. It's one of those things you wish you have been the maker of.

Speaking of which...

This title is almost too good to be true. I could make love to this title.

Jurassic->dinosaurs. big. chaos.
Park->playground, fun.

Jurassic Park: A big playground for dinosaurs that ends in chaos. It's too good. Too good I say!

Next up:

This documentary is about a man who sets out to make a historical documentary about Sherman's March to the Sea, but ends up just filming girls he meets along the way. It's his tragic path to misunderstood destruction. It's his own personal March for which he will never receive the praise he deserves.

And in the same boat:

This is the film I am writing my essay on right now. It's a documentary about a mentally challenged man who is (perhaps) falsely accused of murdering his (perhaps) incestuous brother, Bill. Fun film, right? Anyways, "brother's keeper" is taken from, well:

And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?

That's a damn good title.

Okay I'm sure there's more but I think I've had my say anyhow.

Any titles you find captivating? Share them here!

Back from the dead.

I'm one to take opportunities when they involve getting the old gang back together for one last go at the old time blog.
Anniversaries are the best dates for reunions.
1 year doesn't seem so long ago.
yes it does.

Lets see if I still remember how to do this....

It is funny to go back and read all of the things we posted before. To see mainly what was occupying our minds that day.
for me it was always some book or movie or tv show.
there's always something.
and sometimes I felt I did a pretty good job and touched on some pretty good topics.
I have two favorites actually. (May I offer them up for submission to the "Bloggies Awards")
1. A life in sight
2. Brother of All

I like that I can write things and know people will have read them. Back when we posted all of the time this was pretty good.

I'm remembering what it's like to write these and balance all the expectation vs. reality of how I planned it to go and how it is ending up. (I intended a more casual and typical post....now we're getting a recap/ epilogue-ish post)

So here's the facts.
This blog is a time capsule.
It's contents are precious and worth wile.
It could always hold more.
But it will always keep what we have shared.

Hello Abandoned Blog

You guys really dropped the ball with the updating.

Well here's some artwork that has come out of the past month or so.

2010

2007

Well we're back in the swing of school by now, right? This semester is pretty good for me. I have a lot of enjoyable, major-related subjects. Well actually, no that's a lie. Only 3 of the 6 have anything to do with my major, but the other 3 are enjoyable classes.

I've been doing a lot of drawing. And a lot of animating. I'm a very, very slow animator though. It's been over a year since my last short. A year! I'm about 75 percent done with four separate shorts right now, but it's always the last 25 percent that's so hard.

Bioshock 2 comes out tomorrow!!! Or tonight. I really want to hit up a midnight opening, but I have no money. So it would not be very worthwhile.

New Years Day

Well it is new years day. I thought I should do a little blog to help observe the monumental 1st day of the new decade. Plus I haven't blogged in about a month so I felt guilty.

I guess I will start by recapping the events that have occurred since my last blog. I went through finals week, which was close to hell, but I pulled through. I haven't gotten all my grades back yet because my professors are lazy when it comes to reporting grades, but I think it is another banner semester for good grades. During the weeks of finals and the week after finals was a lot of relatives visiting and last minute x-mas shopping. I did most of my x-mas shopping online before December so that was not too stressful. If I had to rate this last semester of college I would say it has been the best so far. I am a very motivated student now, and I actually get work and studying/reading done during the semester and not last minute/day before situations. Plus my increasing relationships with FA and meeting a lot of new people added to its score. After christmas I kept pretty busy. With relatives, friends, and family. The curb rebel Christmas party was fun, even though the game of Life probably was not the best idea. Then Christmas day was as usual one of the best days of the year. However, It was not the best christmas I have ever had. It just did not have anything major of special this year. But christmas is christmas and christmas is always good. The next event was caspers. Caspers was very fun this year. It had a lot of the same qualities as last year, rain, campsite #9, painful sleep, and a very nice fire. This year we got to go on the trails this time and that was awesome. The East Ridge trail had an excellent view. Lots of good conversations and a very warm fire were the best part. Then there was new years eve, which was very quiet this year. It turned out to be a nice and peaceful way to end out the year.

Oh and I forgot to mention the Finance Association banquet . We ate at the Orange Hill restaurant and had a very good turnout of members. The view from the restaurant was amazing. You could see all of Orange county. It was nice seeing everyone there after the stressful finals were over.

So 2010 is here. Have you made your new years resolutions? I've made some. A lot of mine are typical, eat better and stuff like that. However I do have a few original resolutions that I plan to keep this year. My overall opinion for 2010 is that it is going to be a very eventful year with new changes. I just have this feeling. If all goes well and according to plan, I will be a lot happier, wealthier, and overall a better person.

I celebrated the first day of the new decade by doing a 4 hour deep clean of the Camry. I hope when it is time to celebrate the new decade January 1st, 2020, I will be deep cleaning a Ford GT Shelby Mustang.

The one lesson I learned from 2009:
- Never verse a computer on hardest on Age of Empires.

See ya 2009, Hello 2010!
