My roommate moved out. His name was Ben, and he is no longer with us.


What does this mean though, for the two of us left in the room? I suppose it could be called a fierce battle for his leftover possessions. I want his desk. That is my primary objective. And so far, not too much trouble. Jake wants the dresser, and I've decided to let him keep it. But I turned my back for a split second and he took the bathroom shelf where Ben used to keep his toothbrush. This was never discussed, and frankly I'm shocked at such a bold move.

There is still the question of Ben's mattress. I say we remove it asap. But this is where I meet resistance. Jake wants to keep it to have friends over. Now, there is already a couch in our room which has been doubling as a bed for friends. But, TWO places for guests to sleep? Let's not get carried away.

Today was the first meeting of the animation club. It's SO weird to be in with that crowd of people, because they are so unbearably just like me. Which makes sense, but at the same time it's that whole Narcissism complex, where you don't really realize what's wrong with you until you meet someone just like yourself.

But it's all in good fun. And fostering inner-growth.

I went down to the gym in Henley today. It's weird, because every time I go down there, there are only women, and I'm starting to have this creeping suspicion that it's a women's-only gym. But I just got left out from the circle of knowledge. So now I'm looking for posted signs that indicate whether it is or is not, but so far I'm coming up dry. So, we'll consider it a work in progress.

I have homework to do before the morrow. Also, tomorrow will be the last day with my current favorite teacher, J. Lowi. He is leaving us to go direct a film, so it will be a touching farewell.
