Let me tell you about my blog...

Ok. This is the first "major" post on my part and also that of this blog-periment(Unwritten Blog Law #1: Always overuse the word Blog as much as possible.)  So I was thinking, in that first little introduction I listed some of the things I would be talking about. Now how would be the best way to give you a strong first post and live up to those expectations. Well my friends I have an answer, in video form! Lets take a moment and watch...

How about that! There's a lot in there so let me just go back and cover all the reasons why that video is so great.
First off. Wes Anderson. He is certainly one of my favorite directors...ever. I could not possible sum up all of my feelings/appreciation for Wes Anderson, his movies, and the effect they have on a persons life. And then of course we have Jason Schwartzman. What a great up and coming force in the mighty entertainment industry. An actor, writer, and a musician! What's also great about that video is how you get to see both of their personalities, and they really are just great( slightly geeky, which is excellent in my book) people.
Second. Borders! That is seriously one of my favorite bookstores/ places to go to. Hopefully I get the chance to work at Borders this summer, or any other bookstore. I'm definitely going to try and apply. I can't think of a place that is such a perfect mixture of all of my interest. Unless someone attached a movie theatre to a Borders. It could be a small theatre...like an arthouse. Maybe I'm dreaming a little too much.
Third. Music! The fact that Jason Schwartzman mentioned Feist made me happy. Feist=amazing. Don't forget that. But if you do it's ok, I'll just remind you again. Also there's nothing wrong with plugging your own record. Many thanks goes to fellow blogger James for revealing Coconut Records to me on that rainy day whilst lost in Irvine. Well maybe not completely lost, just turned around. Also he mentioned Ben Lee, another artist I like.

Well that worked out nicely didn't it? Who better to have share your interest than Wes Anderson and Jason Schwartzman. I found that video the other day while browsing around /Film. /Film and Firstshowing.net are the two movie blogs that I visit....i don't want to say religiously...but frequently. They are both highly recommended sites for all of your movie needs. Mostly it deals with upcoming stuff, rumors and random discussions. But yeah the video was from /Film.
And this leads me to my next(possibly regular) feature of my posts. Movies that are coming out this month that I want to(and hopefully with spring break, will) see.
(woah! this list was longer than I thought!)
1. Watchmen
2. Sunshine Cleaning
3. Miss March
4. I Love You, Man
5. The Great Buck Howard
6. Adventureland

There is an unfair amount of "desired" movies coming out this month. April has like nothing! but March is packed. Watchmen is the only one coming out this weekend and we all pretty much have had our hearts hyped to their fullest. So lets hope for some epic R-rated Superhero action! As for movies coming out in March that I don't want to see but feel like mentioning are Monster vs. Aliens and Knowing. I have a weakness for feeling bad for movies if they don't do well at the box office. Hopefully M vs. A gets all those little kids to beg their parents enough so that it does well. As for Knowing, I seriously feel indebted to Nicolas Cage for making me laugh so much in Raising Arizona(for good reasons) and The Wicker Man(for wrong reasons). I just keep hoping he will calm down a little and start saying yes to some better projects...
Knowing him.... this Next film might be a little too.....Bangkok Dangerous.
I'm getting the slight feeling this post might be just a little too big. But it's too late to turn back now!
TV!!!! New Simpsons and King of the Hill last night. Both great shows in my opinion. Sadly this is King of the Hill's final season(a sore topic I will most likely cover another monday). Luckily [adult swim] has been playing King of the Hill nightly and that makes me happy.

On a school note. Midterms are this week. That's something to not look forward to. Studying will certainly be the weeks biggest burden. I have a History test Wednesday and then Philosophy on Friday, as well as an English essay due Friday. But then spring break! Which will be very, very, very nice. (be sure to put extra emphasis on the verys)

Ok well I think I have overloaded you with enough Michael for one day. Maybe even for 3 days!
See you Thursday!

I thought that was a pretty decent length for a major post. its what i expected and now it sets the standard for major posts somewhat. im not sure what length mine will turn out to be tommorow. i guess you only really know when you start writing. anyways good job on the first major post. poor Nicolas Cage. one of my favorite actors, but his latest movies just arent doing it for me.
